So you want to write an RPG module
If you’re looking for the Microsoft Word templates for spells and adventures, then follow this link One of the blog readers (Keith M. of Dragon Claw Adventures @DragonClawAdven) had sent me an email asking me several questions related to my experiences with writing my first adventures and if there was any tips I could pass on. As I believe in karma (not really, but I do believe in kindness) and I was in the same spot and given similar advice by Guy Fullerton of Chaotic Henchmen Productions about 2 years ago I thought I would do the same...

Hello DCC RPG fans! Just wanted to let you know that I’m back from all my vacation and “real job” business trips for a while. Since I’ve returned I’ve worked with Cat to created the print-ready version of the Attack of the Frawgs files and have uploaded them to the new printer I’m using. Hope to see some proofs soon and hopefully we’ll have copies on the shelf in time for Labor Day! I’ll be posting more details about the product and it’s availability once I get the proofs back. Thanks...

Hello Thick Skull Fans! New Review from IronTavern.com So today I’m happy to share that the good folks over at Iron Tavern have released a nice 4/5 star review for Attack of the Frawgs. Amongst other nice comments they had the following to say: …This is my first look at a Thick Skull Adventures product and I was quite impressed with the offering. The module was easy to read and the way each encounter made sense in the larger scope of the adventure gave it a quality feel. While written as part of a series of modules, a judge could...

Our friends over at Tenkar’s Tavern have posted a quick mini-review of Attack of the Frawgs: The adventure itself looks to be a fun one… Attack of the Frawgs is an excellent addition to the DCC assortment of adventures. Our thanks go out to the good folks at Tenkar’s Tavern. You can take a look at the full review here. Update: Erik went on to DM (or “judge” in Goodman Game’s parlance) our adventure. He adapted for 1st-level and apparently of the 8 characters that went in, 2 fell below their 0 hitpoints...

All of us here at Thick Skull Adventures are pleased to announce the availability of the PDF version of Attack of the Frawgs! When creatures prey on the innocent, the meek must become the hunters! Panic is mounting in the isolated settlement of Sagewood! Frightened villagers speak in hushed tones of “walking frogs the size of men” peering at them from within the woods. And now, a severely wounded local trapper has barely managed to return from Dead Goblin Lake; the fate of his partner known only to the foul creatures that so savagely attacked...

Well today was an exciting day for us here at Thick Skull Adventures, after working with Joseph Goodman for about a year on preparing for launching our new DCC RPG modules, I finally got a chance to meet him. Joseph was at our local FLGS, Game Kastle in Santa Clara, CA giving away his Free RPG day DCC RPG adventure offering. He was as nice as I expected him to be, after all, I had been exchanging regular emails with him for the last 12 months. My only disappointment is that Attack of the Frawgs wasn’t available yet for sale, but,...

Hello readers, So this weekend our FLGS, Game Kastle in Santa Clara, held another one of their Flea Markets. They hold these about three times per year and it’s always fun to see all the goodies. At these flea markets, I typically pickup old-school 1ED AD&D material to round out my “nostalgia collection”. At this particular event I picked up a boxed copy of Gygax’s World of Greyhawk game setting (although it was missing one of the big maps, so I got it cheap.) I also picked up a copy of the 3ED’s Forgotten...

So while all you folks are anxiously awaiting Attack of the Frawgs! may I humbly suggest that consider parting with a couple of bucks for a new 0-level 4E D&D adventure from David Flor, A Hero’s Journey. David’s latest offering has a soft spot in my heart, for here is what he had to say about it on his blog: In the meantime, inspired by Thick Skull Adventure‘s upcoming Dungeon Crawl Classics adventure “Attack of the Frawgs!” (which I helped edit), I had an idea for a level 0 mini-adventure. I would have...

Where is Attack of the Frawgs? Wanted to give our loyal readers an update as to the fate of Attack of the Frawgs. The short of it is: as it was written for the Goodman Game’s Dungeon Crawl Classics Role Playing Game (DCCRPG), I will not be releasing the Frawgs before the DCCRPG is released to public. DCCRPG beta rules have been available for a while now–since June 2011 if memory serves–but Mr. Goodman has done a few significant updates to the rules since the beta was released. Most importantly–and I don’t believe I’m...
