Children of the Fallen Sun video by Judge James Walls

Posted by on 12:09 pm in MCCRPG | 0 comments

Hello Thick Skullers! Well the Children of the Fallen Sun Kickstarter campaign is behind us. I had a fun time running the Kickstarter and it was great to see everyone post pictures of their copies once they arrived. One of the folks that showed off their copies was Judge James Walls – host of the Glowburn podcast. On his video channel he did a quick overview of Children of the Fallen Sun.   The adventure should go on sale to the general public – both in print and PDF – within the next few weeks I’m aligning the...

Announcing the Frawgs Turns 5 Contest Winners!

First, let me thank you all again for helping make the last 5 years as a DCC publisher fun and memorable. The personal anecdotes, game play reports, and game at cons and FLGS have created some great memories for me. I also want to thank everyone who participated in the Frawgs Turns 5 Birthday Giveaway. I had a blast reading everyone’s posts, so thank you very much for your comments. After grabbing all the names from both Google Plus and Facebook, and then de-duping, we had a total of 107 contestants! I went to the The Crawler’s batch dice...

Frawgs Turns 5 Birthday Giveaway

It was on June 22, 2012, when my first DCC adventure Attack of the Frawgs was released in PDF form. I’d written Frawgs during the summer of 2012 against the beta rules of a game which had yet to be released called Dungeon Crawl Classics RPG. Little did I know then how popular the DCC RPG system was to become. Now, five years later, the DCC RPG community has become a bit like my second family. Everyone from Joseph Goodman himself, to the other DCC authors (both on GG staff and the 3rd-party publishers), as well as everyone in the Google Plus...

Floating Oasis of the Ascended God and The Lairs of Lost Agharta

With all the photos, merriment, and high-profile Kickstarter announcements that were made during GaryCon 2017, a couple of projects that I contributed to may have gone under the radar. Floating Oasis of the Ascended God In this first level adventure, the players travel to the mysterious Floating Oasis where they must navigate the perilous cloud-caverns while facing off against a dangerously-indifferent deity. Floating Oasis of the Ascended God is a new mini-adventure I’ve written which has been included in the reprint of Harley...

GaryCon 2017 report

Hello Thick Skullers! So I’ve returned from the beautiful Grand Geneva Resort where I’ve finally attended my first Gary Con. The entire experience was amazing. I finally got a chance to meet so many of my DCC RPG family, many of which I’d become good friends with despite only ever interacting via Google Plus and the interwebs. I know by making lists, you always forget one or two important people, but off the top of my head, I know I was able to break bread and/or do some gaming with folks likeAdam Muszkiewicz, David Baity,...

Coming Soon: The Last Will and Testament of Obediah Felkner

So, I finally finished the Alpha draft of my latest adventure, The Last Will and Testament of Obediah Felkner. It is a new first-level DCC RPG adventure, but it takes place in the Old West. Here’s my first draft of the blurb which will likely change as it goes through playtest: 1869 California. On a cool evening in the town of Los Castores, a lawyer summons a group of five strangers into his office. Obediah Felkner, a prominent resident and landowner, has recently passed away, and surprisingly the five strangers have been named his...

DAMN! And GM Day Sale

Posted by on 9:39 am in DCCRPG, Publishing | 0 comments

Hello Thick Skullers! Couple of quick updates for you all. D.A.M.N Magazine is back! DAMN (or the Dccrpg Adventure Magazine and News) is back in PDF and print. Paul Wolfe has done a great job acquiring the rights to reprint the original issue and has augmented with some new material. I’ve got a couple of articles in this issue: Optional Rules for Extreme Spellburn: Just like it sounds. An article providing judges a house rule option for making extreme spellburn more costly in terms of the potential effects the wizard’s health beyond the...
