September 2015 Update

Happy September, Thick Skullers! I hope everyone had a lovely summer and are looking forward to some quality autumn gaming (well, autumn here in the US anyway….) It’s been a while since I’ve written so I thought I’d give some quick updates to projects I’ve been working on as it has been a busy summer: Gam3rCon 2015: For the 3rd year in a row I’ve been lucky enough to attend Gam3rCon in San Diego. This year, it was an extra treat as I was able to go behind the screen and playtest They Served Brandolyn Red. Good times were had by all. See all...

Thick Skull Adventures at KantCon

Good morning, Thick Skullers! The photo below was sent to us by Mr. +Jon Hershberger, who is attending KantCon this weekend. As you can see, the Thick Skull Adventures portfolio is well represented in the bottom left pile of DCC Swag! Remember, those “full-sized” Attack of the Frawgs adventures are the last of the 1st edition printing. So if you’re a collector, be sure to pickup a copy because Jon, +Rev Dak, and +Roy Snyder have the last available...

Frawgs 2015 – art preview

Excited to show you guys some new art that is coming out in the 2015 reprint of Attack of the Frawgs. I’ve commissioned Reba Pyron to illustrate two new pieces for this reprint. Reba, you will remember, was the artist who did that fabulous drawing of (spoiler alert…) the giant blood golem in Stronghold of the Wood Giant Shaman. Hope you guys enjoy. I’ll be updating the existing rpgnow.com PDF, so if you bought the PDF in the past, you should be entitled to...

They Served Brandolyn Red at Gam3rCon 2015

As I have for the last few years, I will once again be attending Gam3rCon in San Diego, but for the first time I will actually be behind (my fancy new Free RPG Day) judge’s screen. On July 10 at 7PM, I will be running, They Served Brandolyn Red, a new funnel adventure I wrote earlier this year which has been been picked up by Goodman Games for future publication. Folks that will be attending Gam3rCon who want to attend the session, should sign up using this Meetup block. They Served Brandolyn Red (Meetup) DCC will be well represented at...

Wood Giant Shaman: Intoxication Table

Posted by on 8:54 am in Uncategorized | 0 comments

Hello ThickSkullers, Community favorite Craig Stokes asked in a Google Plus blog post if anyone had house-ruled anything related to intoxication. As I had written an “intoxication results table” as part of the Stronghold of the Wood Giant Shaman adventure, I thought I’d post it here for enjoyment. Remember, this is “giant grog” so it’s supposed to be stronger than normal. The Setup: It’s pretty simple, while exploring the stronghold, at some point the PCs find themselves in the Wood Giant’s food...

Feb 2015 Update

Posted by on 3:02 pm in Uncategorized | 0 comments

Happy February, Thick Skullers! I know I’m a few days late, but wanted to provide all the Feb happenings inside the Thick Skull. The Product Formerly Known as THS-005 As mentioned in last month’s post, THS-005 has found a new home and will be published by Goodman Games. I have finished another round of playtesting of this adventure and I’m really pleased with how it’s come together. Much of the feedback has been around how it feels much “fuller” than a funnel adventure – and more like a campaign start. I’m going to take that’s good news.  And...

Hello Thick Skullers! Welcome to 2015! I wanted to give you guys a couple of updates on the latest news. TSH-005: The New Funnel Adventure finds a new home  I’m pleased to announce that TSH-005 will not be published after all… at least by Thick Skull Adventures. After some discussions with Mr. Joseph Goodman, I’ve been contracted to deliver that module for publishing through Goodman Games! This is very good news as I’m excited to see one of my adventures get The Full Treatment in terms of art and layout from The Man...

Happy Holidays, Thick Skullers! I’m pleased to announce that I’ve been interviewed by the fine Judges at Spellburn! I had a fun time chatting about the origins of Thick Skull Adventures, my experience with the game, and some behind the scenes of where I get ideas and what not. My thanks to Jim, Jen, Jeffrey and Jobe! Take a listen and let me know what you think.
