Hello Thick Skullers!
I’m pleased the Black Ink Red Film Podcast , a new collaboration between myself and my friend Stephen E. Each month the two of us (and sometimes a guest) will discuss one of our favorite horror/sci-fi novels and its movie adaptation. We’ll discuss what made the novel memorable, and then follow that up with how the filmmakers kept or fundamentally changed the narrative during its film adaptation. We’ll then talk about any lasting impressions the novel and/or movie have left on popular culture.
Season one we’ll be discussing three Stephen King favorites, starting with Pet Sematary. Future seasons will cover topics such as the classic horror monster (Frankenstein, Dracula), “The Devil Made Me Do It” (The Exorcist, Rosemary’s Baby) and much more. I hope you can join us.
PS: I’m a huge fan of true crime and novel discussion podcasts. I’ve been inspired by the quality by Podcast Friends who put out The Generation Why podcast, Once Upon a Crime podcast, Sanctum Secorum podcast, and Appendix N Book Club podcast so I want to send a shout out to them as they were a big inspiration to take on this project with Stephen E.
PPS: Special thanks to Feliks Pyron for once again coming through with the artwork for the logo and Matthew Murdock for providing the theme music.
